I’d just like to say a huge thank you to you all for voting for me for the Eclipse Design Awards; because of you I have now been shortlisted!

I would love for you to vote for me one last time in this final round, if you’d like to, here is the link, (once on this page if you scroll right to the bottom of that page to the form at the bottom - thank you so much)!

Hat for Faberge

I am honoured to have been invited to take part in this very special and exiting exhibition.

International Association of Head-wear Designers invited Amanda Keitch experienced milliner to take part in the International Project of the Association; International Mobile Exhibition of Head-wear Designer:

A HAT IS A WORK OF ART" dedicated to the 175th birthday of Carl Faberge.

The beginning of the exhibition will take place on June 12th 2020 on the day of the holiday of Russia, in the embassy of the Russian federation in Paris. Then the exhibition will travel through cities of Europe finishing in Moscow in 2021. Cities planned; Paris, Strasbourg, Cannes, Nice, Monaco, St Petersburg and Moscow.

I was inspired by Carl Faberge’s incredible craftsmanship and magnificent design, in particular by two Faberge pieces, one being the Faberge and Roll Royce collaboration, “The Spirit of Ecstasy Egg”, created in 2018 and the “Memory of Azov Egg”, created in 1891.

London Hat Week 2017

London Hat Week is a collection of hat related events run by individuals and organisations across London, celebrating the art of hats in the City that is home to some of the most talented hat designers in the world.

This is the Hat entry for London Hat Week 2017, which won a place at the exhibition. This hat is called "The Firebird". My inspiration was the painting by Marc Chagall called The Firebird and a song written and performed by David Bowie called, Lady Grinning Soul.

Meet Amanda

“I’ve always loved making hats. There are many parts to making the perfect hat, firstly it’s the initial design, this could be designing the new collection or designing a hat especially for an individual client or collaboration between us both. Secondly using traditional couture methods and craftsmanship in creating a hat that will last a life time. I love the individual process of hand blocking a hat and sewing everything by hand. A hat is a thing of beauty, a sculpture or a piece of art to be enjoyed by the wearer or admired by the observer”.

London Hat Week 2018

London Hat Week is a collection of hat related events run by individuals and organisations across London, celebrating the art of hats in the City that is home to some of the most talented hat designers in the world.

This is the Hat entry for London Hat Week 2018, which won a place at the exhibition. This hat is called "The Blackbird". My inspirations were the wonderful large and full Victorian hats particularly the hats with full bird wings and whole bird; bringing these designs into the 21st Century.

Couture Model Hats

Amanda Keitch has been an in demand hat designer for the past 28 years since originally learning Millinery at Central St Martins in London and working for Royal Milliner Philip Somerville for 5 years in London. Amanda was lucky enough to design and make hats for Her Majesty The Queen, Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent. Amanda has also made hats for the Bond film GoldenEye and many other exciting fashion shows and exhibitions. At present she is also teaching at Reigate School of Art.

Her hats are popular with Ladies and Gentlemen. A lot of Amanda’s individual designs are worn for the races and weddings and cocktail parties as well her casual felt fedoras being worn to keep warm on a chilly day and straw sun hats to protect from the sun adding elegance to a summer holiday.

I feel a hat is the final piece to enhance an outfit and allow the wearer to feel confident and fabulous at the same time.
